That is down from a case rate of 691.6 per 100,000 just one week ago.

There has also been a significant decline in the BT47 district which covers the Waterside and its rural hinterland as far as Dungiven.

The rate there fell to 364.5 per 100,000 from 595.5 last week. There were 224 new positive cases over the seven days.

A number of postal districts in and around Belfast and in the Mid-Ulster region now have higher Covid rates than Derry’s west bank.

Meanwhile, two more people died in hospital in the Derry and Strabane region on Sunday after testing positive for coronavirus - bringing the death toll for NI to 724.
