Two men in Derry die after testing positive for Covid-19

Two men have died in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area in the last 24 hours after testing positive for Covid-19.

Overall the North recorded three deaths in the last 24 hours with the third, another man, in the Fermanagh and Omagh council area.

Two of the men were aged between 60 and 79 with the third man aged 80 or over.

It means the total number of Covid-19 related deaths in the Derry and Strabane council area now stands at 25.

The Department of Health (DoH) also identified 877 new infections across Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours - of which 199 were detected in Derry and Strabane.

The total number of people to test positive for Covid-19 in the Derry and Strabane area since the beginning of the pandemic now sits at 3,161.
