“I’m currently a student Health Visitor in the Trust, however, due to COVID19 and the current pandemic I have come out into my local community to help in the nursing homes. I see the value in this as we all need to pull together during these dark days.

Patients are frightened, they are lonely, they are anxious and some of them are very ill.  However, we can be the difference that they need and to provide good care.

“In 2016 I lost both of my parents quite suddenly and quite traumatically and those were very, very dark days for myself and my family. So I recognise that families are currently struggling with their loved ones being isolated from them.

“It is not easy to watch your loved ones through a window, however, we as health care professionals can be that connection to their loved ones on the family’s behalf.

“It is a privilege and an honour to be able to be in this position to look after the elderly in our community who matter so much.”
