COVID-19 declining on Derry's cityside (BT48) but rising in Waterside (BT47) where rate is as high as five weeks ago
Data published by the Department of Health on Monday reveal that between December 7 and December 13 the case rate in BT48, which covers the west bank, was down to 157.7 per 100,000 people with 96 cases registered during the week.
This was down from case rates of 187.3 per 100,000 a week ago, 187.7 per 100,000 a fortnight ago, 194.3 per 100,000 three weeks ago, 217.4 four weeks ago, 283.2 per 100,000 five weeks ago, 398.5 per 100,000 six weeks ago, 691.6 per 100,000 seven weeks ago, and 1,155.9 per 100,000 eight weeks ago.

Hide AdIn BT47, covering the Waterside and the east bank of the Foyle as far as Dungiven, by contrast, the coronavirus rate has been on the rise.
Between December 7 and December 13 the case rate in BT47 was 274.8 per 100,000 people with 170 cases registered during the week - nearly double that recorded on the cityside.
This was up from 260.2 per 100,000 last week, 214.8 per 100,000 people a fortnight ago, 232.7 per 100,000 people three weeks ago and 216.4 per 100,000 four weeks ago.

Hide AdIt was at practically the same level as the 275 per 100,000 recorded five weeks ago but lower than the figures of 364.5 per 100,000 six weeks ago, 595.5 per 100,000 seven weeks ago, and 997.4 per 100,000 eight weeks ago.
In Strabane (BT82), between December 7 and December 13, there were 19 cases giving a prevalence rate of 70.7 over the seven days.
In the Castlederg area (BT81) the case rate was 164.8 per 100,000 people with 13 cases registered during the week.
