COVID-19 rates decline in BT48 and BT47 post code areas of Derry

The prevalence of coronavirus has declined significantly in the cityside and Waterside of Derry, according to a breakdown of COVID-19 rates by post code area.

Between January 4 and January 10 there were 319 positive SARS-CoV-2 cases on the cityside (BT48 postal code area) giving a rate per 100,000 of 524.2.

That was well down on the 948.1 per 100,000 recorded last week on the west bank of the Foyle.

In the Waterside and its rural hinterland (BT47) there were 276 positive tests over the same weekly period giving a rate per 100,000 of 446.1. This was also well down on the equivalent figure recorded last week which was 777.4.

In Strabane (BT82) there were 70 cases giving a prevalence rate of 260.3 per 100,000, down from 409.1 last week.

In the Castlederg area (BT81) the case rate was 291.5 per 100,000 people with 28 cases registered during the week, less than half the 608.4 figure posted last week.
