Decline in COVID-19 case rate in Derry/Strabane continues to stall

The decline in the seven day coronavirus case rate per 100,000 in Derry and Strabane continues to stall, according to the latest data released by the Department of Health.

Between October 30 and November 5, 454 people tested positive in the Derry and Strabane area giving a case rate per 100,000 of 301.3.

Up until Tuesday the seven day case rate for the district had been falling steadily from a very high level for a number of weeks, however, that trend has now stalled.

For example, between October 27 and November 2 the rate was 298.7, between October 28 and November 3 it was 300, and between October 29 and November 4 it was 302. Now at 301.3 it's been largely static over several days.

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between November 4 and November 5 was 69.

In total 5855 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane.
