Deep clean at Derry bus depot after five staff test positive for COVID-19

Translink have confirmed that a deep clean of its Foyle Street bus depot has been carried out after five members of staff tested positive for COVID-19.

A spokesperson said: "We have robust measures in place to ensure the safety of all our employees and passengers.

“Swift action was taken in line with the latest Government advice, carrying out a deep clean of Foyle Street bus depot and vehicles after 5 staff members received a positive Covid-19 test result, which is reflective of the increased number of Covid cases in the wider community in the Derry~Strabane District Council area, which is currently one of the highest in the UK.

“Our colleagues are now recovering at home and close contacts identified through contact tracing are also self-isolating, as per NI Executive guidelines."
