Derry COVID-19 rate is 72.3 cases per 100,000 and fifth lowest in the north

The seven-day coronavirus rate in Derry and Strabane is now 72.3 cases per 100,000 people and the fifth lowest in the north.

Between February 16 and February 22, there were 109 confirmed positive cases of the virus in the district giving a seven day rate per 100,000 of 72.3, down from 73.7 yesterday.

Derry/Strabane is recording the fifth lowest coronavirus rate in the north. The lowest rates are in Fermanagh and Omagh (41.9), Newry, Mourne and Down (58.8), Causeway Coast and Glens (65.9) and Ards and North Down (71.5).

Rates are higher in Mid Ulster (159.3), Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (136.2), Belfast (124.8), Mid and East Antrim (124.1), Lisburn and Castlereagh (94.4) and Antrim and Newtownabbey (79.9).

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between February 21 and February 22 was 13.

In total 11,081 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane.
