Derry COVID-19 rate remains lowest in north despite fractional rise and is still below 100 per 100k

The seven-day coronavirus rate in Derry and Strabane remains below 100 cases per 100,000 and is still the lowest in the north despite rising fractionally.

Between January 26 and February 1, there were 137 confirmed positive cases of the virus in the district giving a seven day rate per 100,000 of 90.9, up from 90.3 yesterday.

Derry still has the lowest coronavirus rate in the north. It is higher in Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (333.2), Mid Ulster (309.8), Newry, Mourne and Down (202), Antrim and Newtownabbey (171.7), Mid and East Antrim (160.2), Belfast (157.7), Fermanagh and Omagh (128.4), Causeway Coast and Glens (125.5), Ards and North Down (124.3) and Lisburn and Castlereagh (120.5).

The average prevalence rate for the north over the same seven day period was 186.9, down from 196 per 100,000 yesterday.

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between January 31 and February 1 was 22.

In total 10.713 people have tested positive in Derry and Strabane since the start of the pandemic last year.
