Derry COVID-19 rate rises slightly to 75.7 cases per 100,000

The seven-day coronavirus rate in Derry and Strabane has risen marginally to 75.7 cases per 100,000 people and remains the fifth lowest in the north.

Between February 18 and February 24, there were 114 confirmed positive cases of the virus in the district giving a seven day rate per 100,000 of 75.7, up from 72.3 yesterday.

Derry/Strabane is recording the fifth lowest coronavirus rate in the north. The lowest rates are in Fermanagh and Omagh (41.1), Newry, Mourne and Down (55.5), Causeway Coast and Glens (56.1) and Ards and North Down (60.9).

Rates are higher in Mid Ulster (142.4), Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (128.2), Belfast (122.8), Mid and East Antrim (121.9), Lisburn and Castlereagh (95.7) and Antrim and Newtownabbey (83.4).

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between February 23 and February 24 was 18.

In total 11,118 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane.
