Derry/Strabane COVID-19 rate rises again and is now third highest in the north

The seven-day COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 in Derry and Strabane has risen for the third consecutive day and is now higher than that of Mid Ulster.

Between November 11 and November 17 there were 316 positive coronavirus cases in Derry and Strabane giving a seven day rate of 209.7, up from 203.1 on the equivalent measure yesterday

This Derry/Strabane prevalence rate remains above the average rate for the north which is 187.9.

Only two other district areas are now recording higher rates than Derry and Strabane.

These are Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (243.4) and Causeway Coast and Glens (226.7). Mid Ulster's rate is marginally lower at 209.5.

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between November 16 and November 17 was 67.

In total 6,403 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane.
