Derry/Strabane COVID-19 rate rises slightly and is still well above the average for the north

The seven day COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 in Derry and Strabane has risen slightly and remains as high as it was three weeks ago.

Between November 26 and December 2 there were 312 positive coronavirus cases in Derry and Strabane giving a seven day case rate of 207.1 per 100,000 people, up slightly on the 204.4 figure reported yesterday.

The rate is higher today than it was on Friday, November 13, when it stood at 201.8 per 100,000.

Only Mid and East Antrim now has a higher seven day prevalence rate for the virus at 231.6. The average for the north, which has been creeping upwards, is 140.6.

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between December 1 and December 2 was 44

In total 7046 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane.

Nobody has passed away with the illness in Derry and Strabane since Sunday.
