Derry/Strabane COVID-19 rate rises to highest in the north

The seven-day COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 in Derry and Strabane rose over the weekend and is now the highest in the north.

Between November 23 and November 29, there were 298 positive coronavirus cases in Derry and Strabane giving a seven day case rate of 197.8.

The rate fell slightly from 185.2, on Friday to 183.2 on Saturday.

But it rose again to 191.8 on Sunday and to 197.8 on Monday.

The COVID-19 prevalence rate in Mid Ulster which had been the highest in the north for a period has fallen to 183.7 and is now lower than that in Derry and Strabane.

The average rate for the north is now 133.1.
