Five more people - all under 70 years of age - were admitted to Altnagelvin yesterday after testing positive with coronavirus with the hospital still 0.30 per cent over capacity.

Four men - three aged 60 to 69 and one aged 50 to 59 - and one woman, aged 50 to 59, were admitted.

In total 80 people were being treated as confirmed coronavirus inpatients in Western Trust hospitals at midnight on Thursday.

Altnagelvin is now 0.30 per cent over capacity, according to the Department of Health.

Four of eleven (36.36%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin are being used to treat COVID-19 patients; six (54.55%) are occupied by patients with other conditions. One ICU bed (9.09%) is free.

Six ICU patients in total are being ventilated - one is a COVID-19 patient and five are non-COVID-19 patients.
