Five more people admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19

Five more people - four aged between 60 and 70 and one aged between 20 and 39 - were admitted to Altnagelvin after testing positive with COVID-19.

The patients were admitted to the Derry hospital on Thursday, November 6.

At midnight on Thursday there were 74 confirmed coronavirus inpatients in Western Trust hospitals, according to the daily Department of Health dashboard.

Ten out of eleven ICU beds in Altnagelvin were being occupied by COVID-19 patients with one bed free. Three of these patients were being ventilated.

A breakdown of general occupancy shows that Altnagelvin is now 20.45 per cent 'COVID-19 occupied', 68.37 per cent 'other occupied' with 7.03 per cent capacity left in the system and 4.15 per cent listed as 'awaiting admission today.'
