The Crescent Link Retail Park gym, swimming pool and sauna complex and retail outlet closed its doors in August, after the company that ran it went into administration.

Six other DW Sports centres across the north were also closed down at the time.

Now however Everlast Fitness has announced that it has acquired the Derry business alongside several other former DW Sports premises in the north and in Britain, and plans to reopen the local gym complex on November 19.

A number of jobs to staff the new centre are now being advertised on recruitment websites.

New members are also being offered a 50% reduction on membership fees for the remainder of 2020 and no joining fees, with the offer lasting from now up until the opening of the Derry facility next month.

Everlast Fitness said the Derry facility was one of several former DW premises it has recently acquired and now plans to reopen in the coming weeks.

The company has stated that “these former DW Fitness clubs will be reopening with our Everlast Fitness Clubs name above the door and we are delighted to rescue and reopen these sites and bring fitness back to local communities around the United Kingdom.”
