Four more people admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19

Two women, aged 20 to 39 and 40 to 49, and a man aged 50 to 59, were admitted to the hospital on Friday.

A further person, a man aged 50 to 59, was admitted on Saturday.

The two women were discharged on Saturday.

There were no further deaths with COVID-19 in Derry/Strabane over the weekend.

At midnight on Sunday 41 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across Western Trust hospitals. This is as low as it has been since October 6..

Six of 15 (40%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; four (26.67%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and five (33.33%) were free.

Eight ICU patients in total were being ventilated - five were COVID-19 patients and three non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 7.37% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 84.37% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 4.13% capacity left in the system: 4.13% were ‘awaiting admission.’
