“Having attended many workshops on the development of such a strategy and as a passionate advocate on mental health and improving services here, I am glad that the hard-fought efforts of various individuals and organisations is finally bearing fruit.

“While it is good to see this public consultation finally being brought forward, it is just one step on a long road of action. A road which has been marred by delay after delay, not to mention three years of inaction. This ten-year Mental Health Strategy for the North has been a long time coming but I’m pleased to see movement on this vitally important piece of legislation.”

“I would urge anyone interested in the improvement of mental health services here to get involved and respond to this consultation. It is crucial we hear the voices of people right across our communities, to garner their experience and their expertise and in doing so we can create a fit for purpose system- one that works for all.”
