Nine people admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19 but hospital still has 6.75% capacity left in system

At midnight on Sunday 108 coronavirus patients were being treated in local hospitals.

Six of 14 (42.86%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; six (42.86%) were occupied by patients with other conditions.

Four more COVID-19 deaths in Derry/Strabane

Two beds were free (14.29%). Seven ICU patients in total were being ventilated - three were COVID-19 patients and four were non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 19.33% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 72.39% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 6.75% capacity left in the system: 1.53% were ‘awaiting admission.’
