No further COVID-19 admissions to Altnagelvin with 7.55% capacity left in the system

There have been no further admissions of patients with COVID-19 to Altnagelvin and the Derry hospital now has 7.55 per cent capacity left in the system.

At midnight on Monday 40 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across all Western Trust hospitals.

Five of 12 (41.67%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; five (41.67%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and two (16.67%) were free.

Eight ICU patients in total were being ventilated - five were COVID-19 patients and three were non-COVID-19 patients.

COVID-19 rate doubles on cityside of Derry while falling considerably in Strabane

In terms of general occupancy 8.81% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 79.25% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 7.55% capacity left in the system: 4.40% were ‘awaiting admission.’

There have been no further deaths.
