One Altnagelvin COVID-19 admission over the weekend with 6.69 per cent capacity left

A man in his 80s was admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19 on Friday - the last such admission, according to the Department of Health bulletin published this afternoon.

At midnight on Sunday 36 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across Western Trust hospitals. It's as low as it has been since October 5 (35).

Five of 14 (35.71%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; five (35.71%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and four (28.57%) were free.

Seven ICU patients in total were being ventilated - four were COVID-19 patients and three non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 8.21% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 82.67% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 6.69% capacity left in the system: 2.43% were ‘awaiting admission.’

No further deaths have been recorded.
