One more admission to Altnagelvin with COVID-19

At midnight on Thursday 47 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across Western Trust hospitals. This is as low as it has been since October 7.

Five of 15 (33.33%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; five (33.33%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and five (33.33%) were free.

Six ICU patients in total were being ventilated - four were COVID-19 patients and two non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 8.61% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 86.65% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 4.45% capacity left in the system: 0.30% were ‘awaiting admission.’
