Paula McCallion from Kylemore started making masks in March last year at the start of the lockdown to help support the key workers.

She requested a small donation for each mask to fundraise for The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.

With limited government funding, the NI Children’s Hospice depends on donations and the generosity of the local community to maintain their care and support services

Paula McCallion said that her little grand-daughter Seanain, born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, avails of the NI Children’s Hospice support service.

Speaking about the importance of the service, she said: “The 24 hour care that she receives when she visits the Hospice a few times a year for respite is absolutely amazing. Seanian loves the time she spends there.”

Paula will continue her fundraising as she feels she needs to give something back for all the support Seanain has received.
