Rob’s cycling challenge for North West Cancer Centre
Rob Monteith, who works at local specialist seating company, Seating Matters, is to use a piece of software to aid him in the cycle so he can actually see the route he is taking.
The keen cyclist hopes to finish the 600km route in 21 hours on Saturday, May 23.

“My colleague’s father recently passed away after being cared for in the North West Cancer Centre and we were going to do a fundraiser and I suggested I would do this.”
Rob said that while everyone is focused on Coronavirus at the minute, other diseases such as cancer have not gone away.
“People’s lives are still being affected by cancer and I just wanted to raise a bit of awareness of that for the people going through it, as well as funds for the centre.”

“You can cycle with people all across the world on it. You can see the streets and it measures your distance.”
Rob said he is looking forward to the challenge and said his colleague is very supportive of his efforts to fundraise for the cancer centre.
He hopes to post some live videos of him completing the challenge, which he will start in the early hours of the morning and finish at around 10pm the following day.
