Six more people admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19 including person aged 20-39

Six more people were admitted to Altnagelvin yesterday having tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest data from the Department of Health.

One of the patients was aged between 20 and 39. The five others were aged between 60 and 79.

At midnight on Tuesday there were 71 coronavirus patients in Western Trust hospitals.

Two of ten (20%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; four (40%) were occupied by patients with other conditions; and four (40%) ICU beds were free.

Six ICU patients in total were being ventilated - two were COVID-19 patients and four were non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 17.65 per cent of beds at Altnagelvin were 'COVID-19 occupied', 74.92 per cent were 'other occupied' and the hospital now has 4.33 per cent capacity left in the system; 3.10 per cent was classified as 'awaiting admission'.
