The Mindset Junkie: Should we suffer to get what we want?

Do you need to suffer?

No way! Why the hell would you want to suffer to get anything from life?

I don’t believe we are here to suffer and I do not believe that it is part of any other cosmic plan that we should either.

However, it’s more so that we have been conditioned to believe it and ultimately accept that it’s part of life or as part of getting to where you want to be. Do you need to sacrifice? Yes 100 per cent.

From my experience in life you get what you deserve which is usually how much you are willing to trade and sacrifice other areas of your life to reach that destination you are focused on.

If you want to be fitter and healthier then you will need to trade some time and effort and sacrifice some of the habits and ways of life that are keeping you unfit or unhealthy for the opposite. It can’t be any other way. It’s natural balance.

There is a law of compensation which basically means, in short, you reap what you sow. To expect success in any area of our lives we need to sow the correct seeds. You wouldn’t plant tomato seeds and expect apples would you?

Of course not and if you did get them then let’s have a chat, we could be on to something!

All jokes aside though, this is what most people do - they think failure plants seeds of doom in their minds and in the universe and expect success, happiness and everything in life to be rosy for them. I’m sorry but it just doesn’t work that way.

To achieve the things we want from life it takes effort it takes time and it also takes sacrifice, not suffering. If you feel you are suffering when it’s really only sacrificing some of the stuff that’s really holding you back, you need to have a word with yourself and ask, what am I willing to trade to get to where I want to be?

The friends who hold you back, the family members who drain your confidence and energy, the circle who belittles your goals and ambitions and keeps you stuck in fear? I will trade that sh*t all day long.

Get yourself away from anyone who belittles you and the goals you have for yourself in life. This is your opportunity and as far as we know so far, it might be the only one you get.

So are you going to trade your life, living someone else’s fears and opinions?I have made a lot of sacrifices in my life to do what I love to do and I still do everyday.

I sacrifice mornings laying in bed to rise early and start my day well, to be focused to control my internal environment.

I sacrifice time away from my family when I am traveling to learn and to work on myself and my businesses, I do that now online working from home in my office everyday during lockdown.

I sacrifice certain foods and other things that do not help me be a better healthier more focused version of who I want to be and feel, and the list goes on. Is it all easy and perfect? Far from it but that is the trade I am willing to make.

It’s not suffering in my opinion, it is simply trading things in life that don’t constitute growth or allow me to be the best version of myself for things that do help me get there.

It has been a long journey of self discovery to be self aware and that continues every single day, I have made that decision to dedicate my life to understanding me more and to continually learn more about how we all can improve and live to our true potential, to understand how our marvellous minds actually work and how we can recondition our old habits and beliefs that do not serve us anymore for empowering routines that do.

Am I where I want to be? No, but I’ve also come to understand that I am where I am supposed to be right now and that in order for me to achieve my mission and ambitions I need to plant more seeds, reap what I sow and to sacrifice other areas that might be holding me back!

So, in conclusion, I do not believe we are here to suffer in life but to prosper, to love each other better, to connect more, to learn lessons in life that can help us serve each other to help each other grow and to live a life of meaning! Keep working on finding what that is for you.
