The Mindset Junkie: Stop comparing yourself to others

One of the most destructive things we all do is compare ourselves and our own journey in life to others. We look at how others seem to glide through life and seem to have everything together and live this amazing existence . .  They don’t!

We all have the same issues, problems, needs, worries. Yes some people are maybe more adept at handling some of these issues than you through experience, but it does not mean that they are any better than you.

I believe we are all here to learn and grow from not only each other, but mainly from ourselves, if we would only listen.

If we would listen to ourselves and our own inbuilt internal guidance system more often we can grow and get on the right path faster and easier without judging ourselves or others.

We all have it, call it what you will, intuition, spirit, God - it really doesn’t matter which. What is important is that we take time to listen to it and let ourselves be guided by it a bit more often.

We then stop putting all our hopes, dreams and expectations on others.

We also stop blaming others and take responsibility for our own results. Comparison is the thief of joy…and it will rob you of enjoying the process and journey that you are on in this thing called life.

Never put others on a pedestal or think that life is plain sailing for them, it isn’t. I’ve spoken to hundreds of highly driven successful entrepreneurs and they are all the same, they are human with human needs and human problems to solve.

In my experience the more I learn to listen to myself the more I’m guided towards what feels right. One of our problems at the minute in society is we are bombarded daily with information and we don’t take time to think or listen to our inner voice.

If we all took five minutes everyday to sit in peace and quiet with no external stimulation and listen to what comes up, to practice and learn how to quieten our minds and listen to our heart, what would that begin to tell us?

Your Journey is yours but you do have to own it, without judgement or criticism of yourself or others. If it isn’t how you want it to be right now it's ok, you can change course at any time, we all can!

What if everything up until this point is part of your path, you needed it to learn and evolve and grow as a person?

Maybe now you are beginning to wake up and see and feel things differently, something within is sparking that new change.

Whatever that is do not ignore it, or suppress it, listen to it, welcome it. More importantly . . ACT ON IT!
