The Mindset Junkie: Your life demonstrates what you truly value

It’s another early Monday morning and I have just finished an intense weekend seminar with Dr. John Demartini and a group from all over the world.

It started on Friday and ended Sunday evening. You might recognise the name from the movie, ‘The Secret’. Dr Demartini is a specialist in human behaviour and has worked with and taught hundreds of thousands of people his Demartini method to inspire breakthroughs in people’s lives.

It was an intense weekend with a lot of introspective work to really help me dig deeper into who I really am, what I really want and understanding where I am best aligning myself in life so that I can best serve others and show up as my authentic self.

“Your life demonstrates what you truly value.” This quote stood out so much for me this weekend and it helped me create a lot of mental clarity which I needed.

You see, so many of us have other people’s values imposed on us. We chase this thing or that thing only to give up and then self depreciate because we deem ourselves a failure for not seeing it through.

Anytime we compare ourselves to others we self depreciate. We place others on a pedestal or we put them lower than us creating either an inferiority complex or superiority complex, which then creates further imbalances and usually results in us, in some way or form, not being authentic or being our true self, or living by our highest values.

What are your highest values? Have you ever asked yourself that? Do you know them or are you living your life by someone else’s values?

This happens a lot in society where we have other people’s ideals and values imposed on us and we never really get clarity on what we truly want, most of the time because we never sit and do the work.

‘Values in society go from those who have the most power, to those who have the least power.” - Dr John Demartini.

You will never see anything through that is of no real importance to you or that does not match up on your list of values, or that is something that you don’t truly align with.

What does your life demonstrate? What is it demonstrating right now? Do you love to teach? Do you love to take care of people? Are you a mother living by her highest values and raising a family? Do you value health and fitness and looking after yourself well?

Your daily activities and life will always demonstrate what is your highest priority and for me this weekend I got even clearer on what it is I truly value. It has helped me create clarity, focus and even more drive to fulfil my goals and mission.

Have you ever asked yourself what it is you do value in life? ‘Leaders govern from within, followers get governed from without.” - Dr Demartini.

The best thing we can all do is get clear, and to take back control of your own mind. Stop leaving it wide open to all sorts of information that doesn’t represent your highest values in life, or that can help you fulfil what it is that you want to achieve.

When we have misaligned values or perceptions we tend to procrastinate and self depreciate faster. This is why it is important to understand what you really value most and get aligned with that so that you feel more confident and fulfilled in your daily life. And, for me, that is how we should be living.

We all have something to offer to others on this planet if we would only believe in ourselves more. Step out of fear a bit more and step into action that is aligned with who or what you want to contribute to this world. People with goals go further than people who don’t!

Start setting some goals for your life. Stop waiting around for others to tell what you should do or could do, listen to your intuition more. Intuition is the unconscious becoming conscious. Listen to what those deeper desires are telling you.

Anytime you say you should, you are comparing yourself to others and not being true to yourself. So start by being true to you, assessing what you want to change in life and then make a start.

I will leave you with this quote: “If you don’t empower your life, other people will over power you.”
