Three more people aged 20-39 admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19

Three people aged in their twenties or thirties have been hospitalised in Altnagelvin over the past few days having tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest Department of Health statistics.

Two people aged in the 20 to 39 age category were admitted to Altnagelvin on Monday.

A further person in the same age group was admitted on Sunday.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring 290 people aged between 20 and 39 were admitted to hospitals across the north.

Ten per cent (29) of those admissions were at Altnagelvin.

Since the beginning of the second surge of the virus in September twenty people aged between 20 and 39 were hospitalised at the Derry hospital after contracting coronavirus.
