Three people admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19

Three people, one aged between 40 and 59 and two aged between 60 and 79, were admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19 at the weekend.

Sixty-nine people were being treated as coronavirus patients in Western Trust hospitals at midnight on Sunday.

Of nine ICU beds at Altnagelvin, one (11.11 per cent) was being used to treat a COVID-19 patient, four (44.44 per cent) were being used to treat non-COVID-19 patients; and four (44.44 per cent) of ICU beds were unoccupied.

Three patients were being ventilated - one was a COVID-19 patient and two were non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 16.10 per cent of beds at Altnagelvin were 'COVID-19 occupied', 74.30 per cent were 'other occupied' and the hospital now has 7.12 per cent capacity left in the system; 2.48 per cent was classified as awaiting admission.
