Two more admissions to Altnagelvin with WHSCT COVID-19 patients at lowest level since October 10

Two women - one aged 20 to 39 and the other in her forties - were admitted to Altnagelvin with COVID-19 yesterday.

The younger woman was discharged on the same day.

At midnight on Monday 54 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across Western Trust hospitals. This is as low as it has been since October 10.

Five of 12 (41.67%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; four (33.33%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and three (25%) were free.

Five ICU patients in total were being ventilated - three were COVID-19 patients and two were non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 10.54% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 81.02% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 3.92% capacity left in the system: 4.52% were ‘awaiting admission.’

There have been no new reported deaths.
