Two more COVID-19 deaths in Derry/Strabane takes death toll to 71

Two more people have sadly died in Derry and Strabane after testing positive for COVID-19.

The total death toll in the district has risen to 71. There have now been fifty deaths locally since September.

A man aged between 60 and 79, died in hospital yesterday and a woman, aged over 80, died in a residential care home.

A woman, aged between 60 and 79, also died in hospital on Monday. Her death was recorded in the figures published by the Department of Health yesterday. The other two were confirmed this afternoon.

Derry and Strabane has the fifth highest coronavirus death toll by local government district after Belfast (227), Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (93), Antrim and Newtownabbey (83) and Lisburn and Castlereagh (76).
