WHSCT COVID-19 inpatient total falls to lowest level since December 10
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
There were no more reported admissions at Altnagelvin yesterday though a man in his 70s was admitted to the South West Acute Hospital.
At midnight on Wednesday 71 patients were being treated as COVID-19 inpatients across all Western Trust hospitals. The last time it was lower was on December 10 (70).

Hide AdFive of 16 (31.25%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; three (18.75%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and eight (50%) were free, according to Department of Health figures released this afternoon.


Five ICU patients in total were being ventilated - four were COVID-19 patients and one was a non-COVID-19 patient.
In terms of general occupancy 14.63% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 78.05% were ‘other occupied’ and there was 1.83% capacity left in the hospital system: 5.49% were ‘awaiting admission.’
No more deaths from the illness were reported this afternoon. In total 126 people have died in Derry/Strabane since the pandemic began.
