From the Derry Journal archive: Don Bosco’s beat Coolagh Celtic 4-0 in Bishop’s Cup final (May 1988)

Don Bosco’s completed a memorable double last week over the very experienced and talented Co. Derry outfit, Coolagh Celtic.

Bosco’s produced an excellent team performance on Sunday night at Brandywell and completely overwhelmed their opponents in the final of the Bishops’ Cup by 4-0.

Following the victory the Creggan side booked their passage into the blue ribbon of D&D competitions when they ousted Coolagh again in the semi-finals of the McAlinden Cup 1-0 on Wednesday.

Bosco’s produced one of their best ever team performances with every player playing his part in a truly memorable victory.

Best for Don Bosco’s - Terry Mullan, Charlie Lamberton and Damien McLaughlin.

For Coolagh, Bobby Davis, Francis Harrison and Geoff Ferris played well.
