1978... This prizewinning group from St John’s PS and MacCafferty School of Music contains two pairs of sisters who are also cousins. From left: Margaret and Martina O’Hagan with Suzanne and Lorraine Doherty. They won first place awards in cello solo, recorder solo, Irish song and English solo (10-12).
1982... Mairead O’Callaghan (left), first in the recorder (under 7); Roisin O’Callaghan, first in original poetry (under 12); Gary O’Callaghan, first in treble recorder (under 12); Ruth Deehan, first in piano (under 14); Alison Hegarty, first in children’s song (under 12); and Tracy Hegarty, first in children’s song and girls’ poem (under 8).
