She said: “It’s great that we have another new business for Buncrana and from my point of view as Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council it will be another rate payer for the county.

“We welcome any business at all and it is great to see a new business coming here. It will bring much needed jobs and they are going to be selling a variety of goods including, I understand, some clothing.”

Cathaoirleach Donaghey said it was particularly welcome at a time of great uncertainty as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic to see new businesses giving their vote of confidence to the region.

“It will bring more people to the town and any business we get for the town and for Inishowen is very welcome. It has parking as well, which is good.

“I think it’s great to see it and I would just like to wish well as they prepare to open in Buncrana.”

The new stores bring to 100 the number of Dealz outlets across Ireland, and Dealz Retail Country Manager Olivia McLoughlin has been quoted as saying that the plan to open all three new Irish stores on the same day is an indicator of the company’s ambition.

“Additional job creation and investment in new stores is part of our renewed commitment to Ireland and the communities we serve,” Ms McLoughlin said.
