Riverdance star returns to Derry with major show

He was a major star of Riverdance and is one of the most recognisable faces nationally and internationally in the Irish dancing world.

But Breandán de Gallaí says when he brings his own show ‘Linger’ to the Millennium Forum next month, it will be like returning to his artistic home.

Taking time out from a hectic production schedule this week. Breandan told the ‘Journal’ he was hopeful he might see a few familiar faces when during the show’s run in Derry.

“I’m a past pupil of Mary Soal and Mary was a massive influence on me,” he said.

“I would have taken part in competitions in Derry and the Irish dancing community there was almost like an extended family. It would be lovely to see some of that gang at the show.”

Breandán’s ground-breaking theatrical experience received stellar reviews and sell out success at home and at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016, and is now back with an eight venue tour across Ireland,
