People Before Profit Councillors Eamonn McCann and Shaun Harkin urged people to come along and join the rally in defence of their rail and bus services.

Colr. McCann said Translink has been starved of reserves and that “Derry is going to bear the brunt” of the cuts that are now a real and imminent danger.

He added that slashing public services was completely at odds with moves towards climate action and more sustainable transport options.
