A blessing of motorbikers will take place in St. Aegnus’ Church, Burt on Sunday, September 11 at 1.30 p.m. This year there will be a short prayer service and blessing for all bikers and their bikes. There will be a collection taken up for the RNLI at the church.

Join the Mayor

The Mayor’s tea dance will take place on Wednesday, September 7 at the Guildhall.

Mayor Hilary McClintock is inviting older people from throughout the district to come from 2.00pm until 4.00pm.

The traditional tea dances are held at the historic Guildhall on the first Wednesday of each month.

Open day

Diverse City community partnership

The DiverseCity Community Partnership (DCCP) will hold an Open Day on Friday 9th September at 10.30am in their premises at 10 - 14 Bishop Street.

The NW Civic Activism Project will also a MacMillan Coffee morning in conjunction with the Open Day so there will be tea/coffee and buns, all FREE!

At 12.30pm there will be a lunchtime event (including lunch) giving all the Partnership organisations an opportunity to share information on the work that they are involved in and to give visitors the chance to see the facilities available for hire.

The Eden Place Arts Centre will hold an enrolment day on Monday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The price for a nine week adult course is £40. 
There is a six week watercolour for beginners and basket weaving costing £30. Courses for children and young people are £20.

There are a number of courses including wood scultpure, recreational art, stained glass and photography.

The centre is based at Pilot’s Row.

There are a huge variety of classes, courses and activities to choose from - Art, Languages, Physical Activities, Social and Recreational Activities and cards and games.
