14 year-old admits damaging defibrillator

A 14-year-old boy has admitted damaging a defibrillator outside a Waterside shop.

The teen, who cannot be named because of his age, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to the life saving equipment on August 21.

The defibrillator was situated outside a shop in the Church Meadow area of the Waterside.

CCTV of the incident was shared on social media by the owner of the shop.

The boy was granted bail to reside in secure accommodation at an address approved in advance by Social Services and the PSNI.

The case was adjourned for the teen to appear at the youth court on September 6.
