6.38% capacity left at Altnagelvin with no more COVID-19 admissions and no more Derry deaths

There have been no more deaths from COVID-19 in Derry and no more admissions to Altnagelvin, according to figures released by the Department of Health this afternoon.

At midnight on Wednesday 35 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across Western Trust hospitals. The last time it was lower was on October 4 (33).

Four of 12 (33.33%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; five (41.67%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and three (25%) were free.

Seven ICU patients in total were being ventilated - four were COVID-19 patients and three non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 8.21% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 84.19% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 6.38% capacity left in the system: 1.22% were ‘awaiting admission.’
