The girl has been located close to the city centre and reportedly now safe and well.

An urgent appeal was issued to help find the teenager, who was in an apparent state of distress and disorientation, after she was seen wandering in the Creggan area earlier today.

Hundreds of local people have helped raise the alarm amid concerns for her safety.

Sinn Fein Councillor Colly Kelly said the wider community would be relieved to know that she was eventually located close to the city centre this afternoon.
