Annual Jim Guy Shield Cup quiz

The annual Jim Guy Perpetual Shield Cup Quiz will take place at Age Concern in Malvern House on Monday, February 8.

The quiz is open to people aged 60 and over who live in the Derry city area.

The quiz continues to prove popular every year and is one of the highlights of the year at Malvern House.

Teams of four people are needed to enter and all team members must be over the age of 60.

This year’s competition starts on Monday, February 8 at 3pm. Prizes will be presented to the winning team and runners up.

The winning team will also receive the Jim Guy Perpetual Shield.

Community/voluntary groups, sheltered accommodation organisations or simply a group of friends who fancy their chances can enter a team.

The winners will receive a meal voucher kindly sponsored by the Icon Restaurant.

Questions categories include General Knowledge, Derry, Entertainment/TV and Science and Nature.

A spokesperson for Age Concern said many of the older people at Malvern House are looking forward to this year’s quiz.

“The annual quiz is always a date many of the people at Age Concern Derry look forward to.

“It’s a great event and there is sure to be plenty of competition.”
