The Derry man enjoyed fishing, but said he didn’t like killing the Salmon and ‘always threw them back into the water’.

He said he also enjoyed walks with the dog out hunting, but didn’t kill any rabbits as he was against animal cruelty.

Patrick was also a beekeeper in his younger years. The former service engineer is a keen singer, a tenor, and he is also a dancer.

He has made many friends through singing and dancing in halls and churches throughout the years, and his favourite song is ‘Moira, My Girl’. Patrick is also a fan of poetry and natural history. Patrick says that the secret to his long life is when he does things he likes to do it properly, he is very dedicated and “everything must be perfect”.

“Patrick is our oldest resident and is very popular with everyone. He is such a wonderful character and we are so happy to be able to share this happy occasion with his family.
