Woman sentenced for attempted criminal damage after hostel incident in Derry
A woman has been sentenced at Derry Magistrate's Court after the court heard she was found trying to kick in a door at a hostel.
Aoife O'Hagan (29) of Dacre Terrace in Derry appeared before the Magistrate’s Court in the city on Friday charged with attempted criminal damage.
O’Hagan was charged following an incident in a Waterside hostel where the court was told that two residents were said to be fighting.
O'Hagan was said to be 'very angry', screaming and shouting while trying to kick in the other resident's door.

A defence solicitor said that O'Hagan's behavior was 'regrettable', adding that she has 'long standing issues'.
District Judge Ted Magill noted that O'Hagan had been sentenced to two years and eight months last December in Derry Crown Court.
The judge also pointed out that she had 25 previous convictions, and that those convictions included eight for assaulting police and two for criminal damage.
He sentenced her to one month in custody, suspended for twelve months.
