Defendant concealed Cannabis in box of washing powder
Paul Peter Burke, of Galliagh Park, pleaded guilty to possessing the class B drug on June 20th.
The court heard that police searched Burke’s home by virtue of a warrant.

Hide AdOfficers asked the 33-year-old if there were any controlled drugs on the premises and he confirmed there was.
He led police to the kitchen and pulled out a clear plastic bag containing a green substance from a box of washing powder.
The court was told this contained 18 grams of Cannabis and Burke made a full admissions to this at the scene.
It was revealed Burke has a criminal record and has relevant convictions.

Hide AdDefence solicitor, Mr. Seamus Quigley, said the 33-year-old wasn’t even arrested by police on this day because of the admissions he made.
He urged the court to give his client maximum credit for this.
District Judge Barney McElholm fined Burke £200.
