The defendant is further charged with simple possession of class A and class B drugs.

He was granted anonymity when he first appeared in court last year.

This bans the media from prining his name, address and the date of his next court appearance.

During a brief hearing at the local Magistrate’s Court, the 26-year-old declined to say anything in answer to the charges or to call any evidence on his own behalf.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott accepted there is a case for his client to answer.

The defendant was released on continuing bail to appear in court again at a later date.
