Meanwhile the Waterside Neighbourhood Policing Team have praised the vast majority of people who are observing self-isolating and social distancing. Speaking after a patrol by bike and foot across the Waterside this week, Sergeant Rowntree said: “Normally this is a great way to get speaking with you all, but today was different.

“Today, we hardly passed anyone on our travels. It’s great to see that people are taking the advice seriously and staying at home. As a community, we are all in this together.

“You will continue to see us out and about. We will still be patrolling the Waterside and we are still here for you if you need our help.”
