Eight year-old child dies after attack by two Rottweilers

An eight year-old child has died from injuries sustained in an attack involving two Rottweiler dogs in Dublin.

The incident occurred in the Tallaght area on Sunday afternoon at approximately 4.00pm.

The little boy passed away on Monday morning in Children's Health Ireland in Crumlin.

It has been reported by several media outlets that the two dogs belong to the deceased boy's family.

The two dogs have since been destroyed.

“A full investigation into this incident is under way by Gardaí­ at Tallaght Garda station,” a spokesperson said.
