Four arrested in connection with dissident Republican activity probe released

Four men arrested in Derry as part of an investigation into dissident Republican activity have been released.

The confirmation comers after police said that various locations across the city were searched on Monday afternoon.

Detectives investigating violent dissident republican activity in the North West conducted the searches at various locations.

Detective Inspector Clara Heaton said: “A number of items were seized, including electronics.

“Four men, aged 29, 31, 35 and 36, who were arrested in the city (Sunday 24 May) under the Terrorism Act, as part of our investigation, have been released following questioning.

“The investigation is ongoing.”
